Chiki is the character played in the tutorial, as well as the only one initially unlocked. However, there are four playable characters in total: the aforementioned Chiki, as well as Pickle, Ronnie, and Skips.

In a message by Dvdfu in the official Chiki's Chase Discord Server, a crocodile-like character was teased in a screenshot.[1]

Abilities
Every playable character is capable of these basic actions:
- Jump, including once again in the air, or additional times with the Nimble Feather
- Attack, using energy
- Enter Star Power, by collecting stars
- Obtain Upgrades, depending on the number of slots they have unlocked
Differences
Characters have unique attack types that result in different styles of play. They differ in additional minor attributes, such as:
- Energy count when starting a run
- Energy recharge rate
- Jump height
- Ability differences when equipping the Solar Ring or Lunar Ring
